Malta Ship Suppliers Association

Malta Ship Suppliers Association was formed in 1988, to group the various ship suppliers with long years of history in Malta. It represents the interest of ship suppliers in Malta and from its foundation it forms part of the International Ship Suppliers Association (ISSA).

The Ship Supply business in Malta is not only one of the oldest businesses in the Mediterranean, but had also adapted to different economic and technological changes that occurred over the years. From a ship chandelling business servicing naval powers,  it supplies today transhipment vessels, cargo ships, vessels visiting the yards, and passenger liners visiting Malta’s ports with their essential needs and services. Ship suppliers have modernised, and operate on professional management models.

The Ship Suppliers Association is one of the mouthpieces of the maritime business on the island, and it sits together with other maritime related associations on important committees that overview the operations of the ports in Malta. It holds regular meetings with Government and other stakeholders to ensure that the voice of ship suppliers is heard. It provides advice to the Authorities on the promotion of Malta as a maritime centre.
